• Kim Kardashian jumped on TikTok Live this week with daughters North and Chicago West.
  • Some viewers were upset Kardashian was exposing her kids to the unruly TikTok Live comments section.
  • Others were upset she was accepting gifts of digital stickers from some of the viewers.

In 2014, Kim Kardashian "broke the internet" with a provocative photoshoot for PAPER Magazine. In 2023, it seems like Kim K. has managed to enrage the entire internet, all because of a single TikTok Live.

The U.S. Sun reports that Kardashian recently took to TikTok Live with her daughters North West, age 9, and Chicago West, age 5, in tow on Wednesday, and had the girls performing a dance for the camera and the live audience watching. "Thousands of fans tuned in during the session, with many of them gifting stickers to the family," the Sun said of the stream.

Now, some folks were upset about Kardashian putting her young kids on a TikTok Live, to be subject to unfiltered internet comments they could easily see during the livestream. Others were upset that Kardashian accepted the gift "stickers," which can be converted to real money, despite her wealth. And some of us are upset about all the life choices we've made up to this moment that have led to us understanding what any of this story means.

"TikTok is like the worst platform for kids, and she just puts her kids straight into the firing line," one commenter upset about the "kids on TikTok" side of things wrote. "Absolutely feral behaviour," another very chill commenter added, "can’t believe people have the nerve to say she’s a good mother."

And as for the gifted stickers, Kardashian caught strays for "making bank" from her fans during the TikTok Live. "KK knows they have monetary value and should turn them off," a commenter complained. Why would anyone do such a thing? "I know people gift to be top gifter and see their names and most hope for a shout out," another commenter wrote.

Now, should somebody as wealthy as Kim Kardashian necessarily accept money from fans who hope for a shoutout? Probably not. But should we really be too concerned about making sure the kind of people willing to give money to Kim K in the form of digital stickers don't waste their money that way? To what end? So that they can instead give it to that Nigerian Prince who emailed them? Or to buy gift cards in exchange for an inheritance?

Giving digital stickers to a super-rich reality TV star isn't the best use of their money, sure, but it's probably the best way somebody willing to buy digital stickers to send a celebrity would likely use that money to begin with, so maybe let's just let them do it.
