Kwanzaa is celebrated from Dec. 26 to Jan. 1 with different rituals and practices, depending on your household. The holiday focuses on the seven principles of African heritage, which include Umoja (unity), Kujichagulia (self-determination), Ujima (collective work and responsibility), Ujamaa (cooperative economics), Nia (purpose), Kuumba (creativity), and Imani (faith).

Over the course of the weeklong holiday, the principles are honored through singing, dancing, storytelling, and a candle-lighting ritual. The three red, three green, and one black candle are placed in a kinara (candle holder), and one is lit on every day of the holiday to show appreciation for the seven guiding principles.

If you have all your gifts in order and think you're all set for the 7 days of Kwanzaa only to find that your candles are too melted or lost, we have you covered. We found a selection of traditional Kwanzaa candle sets that include a kinara for your Kwanzaa ceremony this year. Check out our top Kwanzaa candle sets below!
