Women's History Month: Our Favorite Women-Owned Home Brands to Shop

A beautiful destination for all things tabletop, textiles, and decorative accents, Fete Home was founded by Audrey Margarite and Jen Potter, two home and design veterans who love to entertain. This sunny serving board was made using sustainably harvested mango wood and finished with a poppy-inspired pattern on a durable layer of resin, so feel free to make a mess.

Designer Bria Hammel founded Brooke & Lou as a destination for chic home goods that strike a balance between modern and classic. Everything is environmentally friendly, which makes shopping the brand guilt-free, if you ask us. One of our favorite pieces on the site is this darling tray that's hand-woven by artisans in Cambodia.

Anyone with an affinity for designs probably already know the famed Justina Blakeney, who founded Jungalow back in 2009. Blakeney designs all of the pieces, which include accessories and furniture, with her team in the brand's Los Angeles studio. Jungalow also carries a well-curated collection of colorful modern goods from around the world.

Meg Young founded Cailini Coastal in the throes of the pandemic back in 2020, earmarking a portion of sales to support families facing homelessness. The brand offers a stylish selection of coastal-inspired home decor, from serving bowls to delicate lamps. Some of the pieces, including this rattan butler tray, boast a boho flair that can jazz up any space.

Founded by Phoebe Yu and Kat Dey, Ettitude sells lush bedding made with their patented carbon-neutral CleanBamboo fabrics. This bundle set includes a duvet cover, comforter, fitted sheet, flat sheet, and duo of pillowcases.

Neffi Walker founded The Black Home in her native Newark, New Jersey, just two years ago. The brick-and-mortar shop offers furniture, decor, plants, and more—most of which is also from female- and Black-owned businesses. Even better, the boutique on William Street in Newark is complete with its own coffee shop.

What started as a small purveyor of bar carts in 2011 has since grown into a full-on home brand, with Society Social founder Roxy Te crafting everything from furniture and lamps to maximalist wallpaper. Our favorite piece? The classic acrylic bar cart. Be careful, though! It scratches easily.

An ever-evolving treasure trove of vintage furniture and decor, Dressing Rooms Interiors Studio is the brainchild of Ariene Bethea (see her own collected home here!). Bethea is a self-described collector and has a penchant for mixing vintage styles, modern silhouettes, and patterns for bold, culturally inspired home decor.

Along with vintage furniture, Claude Home—founded by Maggie Holladay, a curator who has an affinity for highlighting independent designers (and even creates her own line of upscale decor)—sells plenty of beautiful objects and sculptures that you'll want to forever put on display.

Next Wave alum Laura Hodges is committed to sourcing sustainably made goods from her stores in both Baltimore, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. store. Hodges is the owner and designer of the studio, where she focuses on creating tailored, beautiful spaces for her clients.

Through the Seattle-based brand In the Comfort Of—founded by Alana Tang, the curator of the interiors brand—you can browse thoughtfully sourced vintage pieces, like room dividers and art. In the Comfort Of, or ITFCO, as Tang abbreviates it, sells wall art, housewares, lighting, mirrors, etc. that have a slight vintage flair.

If you love Paloma Contreras's fresh spin on classic design, you'll love the items she sources for her shop from artwork to entertaining accessories. Contreras opened Paloma & Co. in 2019 as a way to bring her creative aesthetic to the masses. Having worked in interior design for years, Contreras and her Houston-based brand highlight emerging artists, unique vendors, and curated products that seek to help tell her customers a story.

This Brooklyn-based brand offers home textiles made from luxe Ethiopian cotton. Hana Getachew founded Bolé Road Textiles as a way to merge her love for Ethiopian handwoven fabrics with her interior design career. The brand pays homage to cultural inheritance by inserting Getachew's personal global modern aesthetic into the home decor conversation.

Founded by Laura Weiszer, Betsu Studio is a stellar source for vintage and modern art, mirrors, pillows, blanket, vessels, and more. The shop refinishes, reupholsters, or rebuilds about 60% of the vintage items that it offers.

Founded by friends, Caroline and Rosie, who have lived all over the world, Wicklewood partners with international artisans to source unique (and delightfully colorful) home goods. The brand's offerings are made and curated with the customer in mind. Aesthetic-wise, Wicklewood is for the modern nomad, and gives shoppers access to exclusive fabrics and home notions for an affordable price.

Marabou Designs is owned and operated by Brandy Brown. The entrepreneur started the business almost 20 years ago with a focus on creating a new narrative around Black art.

As its name suggests, Estelle Colored Glass sells gorgeous, delicate glassware in every shade of the rainbow. Stock up on a few to seriously upgrade your happy hour. Stephanie Summerson Hall established the brand as a way to honor and commemorate her grandmother's legacy for being a voracious antique shopper. These luxury hand-blown glasses comes in several color and styles that will mesh with whatever the situation calls for. Having a champagne toast? Sure! A simple glass of wine after a busy day? No problem.

Frustrated with moving into a New York apartment, Coley Hull founded Coley Home in 2019 to ship chic, upholstered beds in standard-sized boxes. Now she offers pillows, throws, and table linens as well.

With decades of experience as an event planner, Jung Lee knows where to find the best items for home and entertaining—and she offers them up through her eponymous store and website.

London-based Sonaike reinterprets colorful West African prints on her fabrics, as well as ottomans, pillows, and more. Based in London, Eva Sonaike, the founder and designer of the eponymous label, strives to create African-inspired contemporary home decor that plays with color and print.
